NTT DATAExperience Design for the C&M Department Office: axis
Experience Design for a New Office to Provide Better Value
Office design project for NTT Data’s Consulting & Marketing Department (C&M Department). Through interviews and workshops, we worked together with the client to formulate the “be CREATIVE. for CREATIVE.” concept around new ways of working to provide better value to customers and we designed the ideal office experience. We took great care with everything from naming to producing a logo and the Office details, to bring this project to completion.

Who We Want to Be and the Space Needed
The C&M Department provides new value to customers using technology, but the environment in which the Department works has not changed for many years. FOURDIGIT interviewed employees from various roles, and found a gap appear between the way senior management and the workplace “want things to be.” Through workshops, we looked closely at who the C&M Department wanted to be as a department, identified the types of employees who would work there, and the Office that would make that happen.
be CREATIVE. for CREATIVE.
We designed the space based on the concept "be CREATIVE. for CREATIVE" that we developed in a workshop. We created a seamless design with everything from open spaces that encourage communication to closed spaces for better concentration, while satisfying the functional needs of each space. We paid particular attention to the sense of quality of the furniture and equipment and did a conceptual staging.

An Arrival and Departure Point for Various People
The C&M Department collaborates with other NTT Data departments, such as sales and development departments. The initial plan was to renovate a floor in Toyosu, but it was decided to move to Yurakucho, which has good access, so as to make the Office a place where a range of people, including employees from other departments, clients, and partners can get together. We named it “axis,” in the hope that it will be an "arrival and departure point" for all the people who come there.
