FOURDIGIT Inc. has established a subsidiary, FOURDIGIT MALAYSIA Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter “FOURDIGIT MALAYSIA”) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is the third subsidiary of FOURDIGIT Inc. to be established overseas, following locations in Bangkok, Thailand and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

With the FOURDIGIT Group’s more than two decades of experience and achievements in the digital design industries as its foundation, the group’s Tokyo, Japan headquarters and numerous branch offices will work as one to provide design value in the fast-growing Southeast Asian digital design market.

FOURDIGIT MALAYSIA is progressing steadily towards its start, and will begin developing its business in cooperation with locations in other countries.

Malaysia, centrally located among the countries of Southeast Asia, has seen a rapid recovery in economic activity in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is also known as the main hub for ASEAN Islamic finance, and digital technology is being used in various fields, including the rapid digitalization of financial services. There are country-wide efforts to develop its digital economy, and by 2025, the digital economy is expected to account for about a quarter of Malaysia’s GDP, making it an important base for FOURDIGIT’s further expansion in Southeast Asia going forward.

Malaysia is a country with a multi-ethnic demography, with approximately 70% of the population of Malay origin, 23% of Chinese origin, and 7% of Indian origin. Its national religion is Islam, and approximately 60% of the population is Muslim (Department of Statistics Malaysia, 2022). Amidst this complex blend of diverse cultures and its different languages, religions, diets, and lifestyles, the approach to digital design is different from that in Thailand and Vietnam, and provides a foothold for FOURDIGIT in the ever-expanding Islamic market.

FOURDIGIT MALAYSIA will recruit and train young and talented team members. At the same time, through collaboration with group company offices in Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as with local partner companies, they will strive to be a leader in the Malaysian digital design market by providing comprehensive services ranging from consulting to design and engineering.

In conjunction with the establishment of FOURDIGIT MALAYSIA, we have also entered into a capital and business alliance agreement with Snappymob Sdn. Bhd. (hereinafter “Snappymob”), a Kuala Lumpur-based company that provides web and mobile app development services. This will enable us to gain an understanding of the digital design needs of the Malaysian market, as well as provide consistent services by leveraging the strengths of both Snappymob’s development and FOURDIGIT’s design capabilities. We expect to be able to expand the scale of projects and the scope of delivery, as well as the potential for value creation.
