Our Company Partners with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) to Offer a Practical Service Design Education Program

To provide practical knowledge and experience in service design in Thailand, FOURDIGIT has partnered with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), a prominent national university renowned in the field of design.

Building on our extensive experience and expertise in service design across Asia and beyond, FOURDIGIT will collaborate with KMUTT to nurture talent capable of delivering the value of service design. Through this program, we aim to equip many individuals with practical knowledge and experience in service design. In the future, we hope that graduates of this program will thrive in the market, enhancing the value of both service design and design itself.

As the first step, we plan to hold a multi-day boot camp at KMUTT in November and December.

Program Details

FOURDIGIT’s “Service Design Fundamentals Course” will provide basic knowledge and hands-on experience in visualizing ideal outcomes based on Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles. In addition to learning about the design process, participants will have opportunities for comprehensive input in design, business, and technology. Service design and design consulting require extensive experience and skills. Through this initiative, we aim to help students acquire design thinking and peripheral knowledge.

We plan to offer a four-day short boot camp that will serve as an introduction at KMUTT, followed by a potential three-month learning program.

Background of the Initiative

The digital economy in Southeast Asia has proliferated, but there is a shortage of highly experienced design professionals, and design education faces similar challenges. In the field of design, there is a demand to cover a wide range of areas, requiring the integration of business and technology. However, there are insufficient opportunities to acquire practical skills thoroughly. As a result, companies struggle to find talented individuals and training costs post-hiring are high.

To address these challenges and promote design development as a solution in the industry, we decided to partner with a Thai university to leverage the expertise we have accumulated at FOURDIGIT to foster talent.

In Japan and Southeast Asia, FOURDIGIT offers service design, branding, customer experience design, and continuous improvement support, along with corporate training programs. Additionally, In Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, we are engaged in sustainable talent development activities, which provide job opportunities and collaboration in the digital design field.

Utilizing these experiences, we aim to accelerate organizational development in Thailand, reduce training costs for companies, and actively contribute to design education.
