Japan Post Bank’s Japan Post Bank Bankbook App, designed by FOURDIGIT from experience design to front-end, has received the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2020 (organized by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion).

A bankbook app that enables Japan Post Bank integrated account holders to check their current balance and account activity statement at any time using a smartphone. To make this application a gateway for a digital service shift by those users who have only ever used a counter or an ATM, FOURDIGIT focused on developing simple functionality and easy operation. With a wide range of anticipated users, our goal was to create an app that would be attractive even to those who lack confidence with IT.

“Japan Post Bank’s banking app is one of Japan’s biggest. While there would have been challenges in the design, information processing, and operability specification setting when designing this app, which also has to follow diverse generations, the application was highly rated for UI/UX that effortlessly achieves simple design and ease of operation for all generations.”

FOURDIGIT has been involved for many years in designing the output that people experience. While putting ourselves in the shoes of the users who do the experiencing in the real world, we also look at things from the business viewpoint and the operator’s viewpoint, we do the analysis, we empathize, and after repeated careful examination, we bring those designs to completion, right up to the service endpoint.
